Jess Fitzsimons Kane is a Dublin based lighting designer, technician, and stage manager. She completed a BA in Drama and Theatre Studies in Trinity College Dublin in 2021 with a first class honours with a specialisation in performance and design. She received a gold medal awarded by the Board of Trinity College for exceptional merit within her academic studies. During her time in college she was also the technical manager for DU Players from 2019 to 2020.
She has toured all around Ireland as a lighting technician and has designed shows in Ireland, London, and Canada, and was recently the Assistant Lighting Designer for the Abbey Theatre's double bill of The Boy and The God and His Daughter. This January saw her 4th year as the lighting design mentor for Tenderfoot; The Civic Theatre Tallaght’s apprentice theatre programme for second level students.
Jess was under the mentorship of lighting designer Sinéad Wallace as part of the Design Mentorship Pilot Programme with ISPD in 2025. ​​
